Resuscitation Academy Foundation Educational Specialist

The Educational Specialist will play a pivotal role in guiding and supporting the Resuscitation Academy’s initiatives. As a key member of our team, the Educational Specialist will provide expert knowledge of EMS and Communications Center operational knowledge. This role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to design, implement, and assess educational initiatives that align with the organization's mission and goals. 

Position Type: Consultant (8 hours/week), one year term.
Expected Rate of Compensation: $30,000

  • Medical Expertise

    • Provide translation of resuscitation science guidelines, research, and trends for non-physicians under the direction of the Medical Director

    • Provide consultation on programmatic quality improvement and training for EMS and 911 Center medical directors.

    Program Development and Evaluation

    • Assist in the design and implementation of RAF programs, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

    • Assist in the evaluation of the effectiveness of existing programs and recommend enhancements based on evidence and best practices.

    Educational Program Development

    • Collaborate with internal teams to identify educational needs.

    • Design, develop, and implement educational programs, workshops, and training sessions.

    Curriculum Design

    • Develop and review educational curricula, ensuring alignment with RAF standards and adult-learning best practices.

    • Incorporate innovative and interactive teaching methodologies to enhance the learning experience.

    • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure the accuracy and relevance of educational content.

    Evaluation and Continuous Improvement

    • Implement assessment strategies to measure the effectiveness of educational programs.

    • Analyze feedback and evaluation data to continuously improve and refine educational offerings.

    Collaboration and Networking

    • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with healthcare professionals, research institutions, and other relevant stakeholders.

    • Represent the organization at conferences, meetings, and events to enhance its visibility in the resuscitation community.

    • Cultivate additional resuscitation champions within the Lighthouse community. 

    • Motivate and support stakeholders in resuscitation quality improvement.

    • 10+ years of EMS leadership experience

    • Strong understanding of prehospital cardiac arrest and related program implementation factors.

    • Strong understanding of disparities in survival.

    • Strong project management and organizational skills.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Resuscitation Academy Mentorship Program (RAMP) Manager

This role focuses on implementing a tailored RA Mentorship Program (RAMP) that connects RA alumni with experienced mentors to support system improvement and project success. It also involves building a collaborative alumni network for knowledge sharing, with a focus on high-need areas identified through national cardiac arrest data. The position includes evaluating project outcomes to identify resource gaps and inform future support strategies.

Position Type: Consultant (8 hours/week) one year term 
Expected rate of Compensation: $40,000   

  • Implement an RA Mentorship Program (RAMP) by effectively connecting RA alumni (mentees) with RA faculty and staff (mentors) for tailored support, expertise, and mentorship.

    • Develop a mentorship matching program to connect RA alumni with RA faculty or subject matter experts that best fits the needs of the mentee organization and geography. 

    • Coordinate regular works-in-progress sessions between mentors and mentees to provide guidance and resources for system improvement.

    • Offer ad-hoc consultations for specific challenges alumni face during project implementation.

    • Track mentorship outcomes to measure effectiveness and refine the program over time.

    Create a collaborative network for RA alumni communities to share solutions to common barriers.

    • Establish an online platform or forum for RA alumni to connect and collaborate.

    • Facilitate regular virtual meetings or webinars to discuss shared challenges and solutions.

    • Highlight successful community improvement projects as case studies for broader learning.

    Prioritize mentorship activities in zip codes with the lowest cardiac arrest survival rates.

    • Leverage a partnership with CARES (Cardiac Arrest Registry to Enhance Survival) national data to identify high-need geographic areas with low cardiac arrest survival data.

    • Prioritize these areas for mentorship support and resource allocation.

    • Develop targeted outreach strategies to engage leaders in these communities.

    Evaluate the success of RA alumni improvement projects to identify gaps in resources and support.

    • Collect post-implementation data from RA alumni on cardiac arrest survival projects.

    • Analyze trends to identify gaps in training, resources, or community engagement.

    • Prepare a report summarizing key successes, challenges, and areas for further support.

    • 10+ years of EMS leadership experience
